Day 1 of my new blog

I am currently home sick while the rest of my family is at church. Strange to be in the house all by myself. I have 4 kids ages 7 to 16 and life is mostly constant chaos! A good chaos though. I decided that it was time that I kept a sort of journal of our life here in HayCreek. This house that we live in has been in my family for over 145 yrs. It was my great grandmother Hermans house first. I remember coming here as a child and just loving it. I feel very blessed to have been able to purchase it and raise my family here.

My name is Lisa, and I have 4 kids, 1 husband, 1 dog and numerous cats. The kids: 3 boys ages 16, 12, 7 and 1 girl age 14.

We have 5 acres which borders the rest of the old farm which my dad still owns. I am one who is always looking for a project or something to create. Currently, I have applied to the farmers market here in town and the only way I could get accepted is if I had a unique idea. Well, with all this land, I figured I should try and use it to make a little money. I am growing a variety of organic vegetables but in order to sell them, I am going to package them in little crates with recipe ideas. Sort of like farm baskets. Well, because of the chaotic baseball schedule, my husband working nights right now, rain, and work, I have not gotten back into the garden since I planted. Needless to say, it looks like a 250 foot by 60 foot peice of carpet out there! The weeds! ugh. So, I need to somehow find the time to get out there and rescue my little plants before I throw away this farmers market opportunity. Wish me luck!
